About

Trez Fez started from humble beginnings – three guitarists with a love of Django Reinhardt strumming together at the Nip Inn on a late summer evening.

In 2004, a chance meeting at Dead Frog Studios added new members Helen on accordian, Rachel on flute and Paul on double bass and keyboards to the line up.  Trez Fez became Trez Fez and friends!

We’ve played all over the country in all sorts of venues and we’ve loved every minute of it.  From weddings to muddy festivals, from fetes to birthday parties, from charity events to jazz clubs, we’ve done the lot!

Trez Fez and friends also incorporates a wide variety of ‘friends’ – guest musicians who add a bit of variety to our line-up.  Recent additions to the band include Clifton Harrydass, who joins us playing steel pans!  We also welcome 1940s jazz vocalist Polly Douglas, Brian Renney on saxophone, Tom Sykes on violin, Rob Curson on rhythm guitar and Tony Hamer on bass to name a few!

Our most regular spot is at Briars Hall in Lathom, where we host a gypsy jazz night on the first Monday of every month.  Chief organiser Paul Budgen organises the night, which features some of the hottest hot club musicians in the North-West and beyond.  Jazz enthusiasts may recognise Gary Potter, John Jorgensen, George Washingmachine, Ritary, Moreno, Bob Clarke, Spats Langham and the Swing Commanders to name a few.  For more information on the night, please see www.beaufortjazz.co.uk .
